Croatia in autumn 15-26October 2016

This year had been a very busy year for me as I had gone on a few trips with my family and my online business taking up most of my time.

15Oct Flight departs from Singapore at 2300 hr
16Oct Arrive Zagreb. Enjoy lunch and start our walking tour to
          discover the Old Town of Zagreb.
17Oct We will make a day trip to Istria, the gastronomic heartland of Croatia to visit Porec, an ancient Roman town for its UNESCO listed Euphrasian Basilica. Then we continue to  Rovinj, the star of coastal Istria region. Stroll along the streets of the Old Town, admire the ancient buildings and the Church of St Euphemia. Then, we return to Zagreb.

18Oct Today, we drive to the Plitvice National Park to appreciate the various waterfalls and clear pools with the autumn foliage. Enjoy our lunch and we then travel to the hip Zadar town, situated on the Dalmatian Coast for our overnight stay.

19Oct In the morning, go on a walking tour of Zadar, enjoy our lunch, then we continue to Sibenik. Marvel at the magnificent medieval heart, gleaming white against the placid waters of the bay. Sibenik is founded by the Croatian king Petar Kresimir IV in the 11th century. The St Jame's Cathedral is another UNESCO Heritage Site. After dinner, we continue on to Split, the second city of Croatia.

20Oct Today, we have a whole day in Split. Enjoy our morning walking tour, to visit Diocletian's Palace, the most imposing Roman ruins which was built by the Emperor Diocletian. There are 220 buildings within the fortified town. Enjoy a good lunch with calamari, rissotto, and other seafood dishes. In the afternoon, you can enjoy some free time, and in the evening, enjoy the drinking or nightlife in Split.

21Oct This morning, we leave Split for Korcula island, one of the most popular destination after Dubrovnik, the walled city. Board the catamaran for Korcula, with its vineyards, and secluded beaches. Have a great day, just by exploring the Old Town.

22Oct We will take the catamaran for Dubrovnik, the most famous destination of Croatia. As we walk the Old Town, marvel at the terra cotta roofs, and honey-colored walls. Enjoy the stroll around the city's historic stone walls and walkways. In the evening, dine at an outdoor table, to savour the local cuisine.

23Oct Enjoy some free time in the morning. Then, we depart for Zagreb, with a stop at Ston for the fresh oysters and seafood. Arrive in Zagreb in the evening for the night stay.

24Oct A free day to do some souvenir hunting or simply enjoy the local coffee.

25Oct This morning, we will head to the airport for our departure flight by British Airways.

I am the organizer of this trip and it is planned to let my group members enjoy the best of what Croatia has to offer, and time for exploring and enjoying the country's old medieval buildings, majestic churches, great seascape, and the local culture.

Due to one of the last minute withdrawal of my room mate, I can still accommodate one to two ladies joining us on this all ladies group.
